Anthony S. Chilton, Ph.D. has been named chief operating officer, scientific services, at BASi. Dr. Chilton is responsible for the scientific services provided to clients from the company’s locations in North America and Europe.

“Dr. Chilton is a superb addition to our long-term scientific staff and leadership team,” said Richard Shepperd, BASi’s president and chief executive officer. “His extensive industry expertise will be an asset to our partnerships with the biotech and pharmaceutical industry.”

Dr. Chilton has more than 30 years of experience as a scientist and has held executive positions with life sciences companies in England, Canada and the U.S. Dr. Chilton joins the company from Atherogenics, where he was responsible for early development programs. Prior to that, he provided consulting and advisory services to various pharmaceutical companies and served as vice president of the biopharmaceutical development division of Cardinal Health.
